Angel Baby Ada

Meet Ada . . . what a sweet baby girl.  Her grandmother (my new accountant - see Circle of Friends on sidebar) and I had a great time during her session . . . we did at least six different outfits on her and she was happy doing so!  I thought the angel baby image would be an appropriate one to share in keeping with the holiday season. Enjoy!

The Age of Innocence

This is one of the favorites from their recent session . . . and ended up being the wall portrait selection for their home.

What beautiful little girls!  These little girls were so sweet and it was such a delight to work with them.  I had one of the best times with them; since photographing two or more children together can sometimes be a challenge.  It was a real blessing to capture the beauty of them and also the bond that they have for one another.

Parker, Carter & McCoy

I had the pleasure of photographing the twins with their dog, McCoy, a beautiful Bernese Mountain dog. He was so sweet and so well behaved. He was so gentle with the twins. McCoy often visits hospitals, nursing homes, community centers and communal foster care facilities with his beloved owner, Elicia  . . . he brings  lots of smiles and love where ever he goes.

Also, if you are looking for a special gift to give to your favorite dog lover, why not check out Elicia's book, An Angel in a Dog Suit.  Elicia is the mom to the twins and to McCoy. She not only wrote the book but also did the illustrations. You can check it out at:

The tragedy of 911 and the four legged heroes who searched through the rubble and comforted those in need during the weeks and months that followed, were the inspiration for this book. The profits from 2008 will go towards buying the Annapolis Fire Department a working dog!

The Twins at 9 months!

How cute!  Here are the twins at their 9 month session . . . aren't they adorable?  I just love all the hats and headbands their mom brings in for their sessions.  I love the fact that they keep them on . . . not all babies like hats on their heads. When I get children that keep them on, I am in my glory! We also photographed them with their dog, McCoy . . . a beautiful Bernese Mountain dog. McCoy is so sweet and was so well behaved!  I will post an image of him with the twins soon.

Meet Bella!

Look how precious! Bella is 5 weeks old in this image. We were VERY fortunate when she finally feel asleep towards the end of the session.  She looks so peaceful in this image . . .  I just love this pose of her!

The younger the baby, the better the chance of getting sleeping images.  It is best to bring your baby in to be photographed as soon as possible; usually within the first two weeks of life!  Most babies, less than a week old, will sleep through the whole session and won't wake up when posing them.

Gift Certificates are available for maternity and newborn sessions.  Call 410-974-1751 for more information.

Let's Eat Cake!

What a cute series from his 1-year old session.

Meet Nolan . . . he is the baby brother of Miranda, who is pictured in the June 14th post.  He had a blast with his birthday cake . . . it makes me laugh every time I see these! I especially love the last image. We did several series during his session and they were all adorable!

This session now completes his Baby's First Year album. . . . which filled with wonderful collections of images starting from newborn through 12 months of age.

Dylan turns 2 & Caroline turns 4!

We had a great session with Dylan . . . he turned 2 and it was so much fun!  Sometimes 2 year olds can be a challenge but Dylan was really into it.  Here is one that I just love . . . it is such a classic . . . he is so cute!

Little girls just love having a tea party!

Meet Caroline . . . Dylan's older sister.  We did a series of images of her birthday tea party . . . this is one that I thought was really sweet. I first met Caroline when she was around 18 months and Dylan when he was 3 months. It is such a blessing to me to be able to capture the innocence and the beauty of children . . . I am truly honored to be able to do so.

Here Are The Twins At 6 Months!

This image is from the third session I photographed of the twins for their portrait history.  I first met  them at 2 weeks old and boy, were they tiny . . . they weighed only 4 pounds. As you can see, they have grown into such sweet and cuddly babies.  Recently, at their 9 month session,  they are now sitting up and getting quite active; developing their own little personalities. It is so much fun watching them grow and capturing it along the way. Carter is showcased as the newborn in the header of my blog. . . isn’t he adorable . . . all snuggled in his daddy’s arms.  We are already planning their 1st year birthday session . . . along with birthday cakes, hats, balloons and more!  It should be a fun session!

More Brotherly Love . . .

Here is the other image.  I love the emotion of this one, too! Both speak to my heart . . . I can't decide which one I like better!

Brotherly love . . .

Here is one of my favorites from this session. I love the emotion in this portrait. It was a toss up between this one and another one very similar to this.  When I get a chance, I will prepare it and get it posted.

Meet Caroline!

Here is another one of my favorite little subjects, Caroline.  She has been waiting anxiously for me to post her image. Caroline is the younger sister of Madaline, whose image was posted in July. I've been photographing Caroline since she was a baby, too . . . capturing her cuteness and personality over the years! She has the most expressive, big brown eyes and is so full of life. . . there is never a dull moment when she is around . . . she keeps you entertained!  Oh, she loves the color pink . . .  and her tee shirt reads:  The Best Things In Life Are Pink!  How appropriate!

Nicholas Turns Two!

Meet Nicholas . . . I've been photographing him since he was an infant. This is a favorite from his recent session. . . what a classic look he has!  He has turned into such a handsome little boy and he is really smart, too! It is always such a pleasure to work with his mom, Kelly . . . she is one the nicest moms out there and so pleasant to work with.  I even had the pleasure last winter to photograph the four generations . . . a special family moment that will be cherished for a long time.

Fire in the sky . . .

What a surprise tonight's sunset turned out to be. Since there wasn't any wind for sailing, we ended up going to our usual Gibson Island location to anchor and grill dinner . . . it was a peaceful and still evening.  We watched the sun set and I wanted to stay longer and I am so glad we did.  The sky took on a whole new transformation about 15 minutes after the sun went down. It was a beautiful painting to behold and I'm glad to have been able to capture it with my camera.

After the storm . . .

We ended up staying overnight behind Dobbins Island.  Around noon, we decided to go for a sail and within a half hour the sky was changing, a heavy line of storms was heading our way . . . so we decided to go back to the dock and wait it out. So after the storm we went back out . . . the air cooled off but the winds died down.  Since there wasn't enough wind to sail, we decided to anchored by Gibson Island and grilled dinner.  Here is tonight's sunset. . . it was such a peaceful and pleasant evening.

Empty Nester!

This morning my son tells me that the birds are gone!  I guess it was time for them to spread their wings and move on!  It was a fun experience finding the eggs and watching them grow!

Speaking of an empty nest, our son will be going back to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in a few weeks . . . it has been wonderful having him home this summer and I can't believe I have to go through the departure again!  I'm getting emotional just thinking about it even though I am excited for him as he loves it there. He has met wonderful friends and is involved with a great church called Life Community Church in which he will be joining them again as part of the worship team.  Not to mention that he is a few miles from the ocean . . . he goes surfing in the morning before his classes. . .  and every minute that he can!  I love to hear about his adventures every day . . .

So moms and dads, enjoy every minute you have with your children . . . the time just slips away so quickly!

Here's Phil while sailing Sundance. He takes after his dad . . . he loves sailing, surfing, wake boarding, snow boarding . . . just to name a few.  We have been truly blessed by him!

What a difference a day makes . . .

Look at them now!  I can not believe how fast they are changing! Aren't they cute!

One week later . . .

Well, they are growing!  I don't think the third egg hatched as of three days ago. Not sure if it is underneath these two.  I was going to post an image of them the day after they hatched but it was not very pretty . . . now that they are getting their feathers and looking like birds, I thought I would share this one.  It has been interesting watching this from the beginning! They are probably 2 1/2 inches in length . . .

Classic Beauty

This is Madaline . . . I've been photographing her since she was two years old.  She is one of my favorite clients to photograph and I just love capturing her beauty.  She has the best hair ever and I hope she never cuts it. Madaline is very athletic and soccer is her favorite sport.  I recently photographed her sister, Caroline, and will post one of her images once they come in to order. . . she is a real cutie too and I can't wait to see what her mom selects from her session.

July 10, 2008 ~ Anchored at Gibson Island

We went out for a sail and it was a great day!  There were no threats of any storms . . . we had one come through last night which kept us from going out for the sailboat races.  After our sail across the bay, we anchored at Gibson Island and chilled . . . it was a very peaceful evening.

Speckled Eggs . . .

Nestled in between the branches of a spruce that I have in a planter by my front door, is this tiny little nest with three little baby blue eggs.  They look just like the candy speckled eggs you get in the spring . . . and they are about the same size, maybe an inch or so! My son spotted them yesterday after seeing a tiny bird flying out of the spruce when he opened the door. How precious!

July 1, 2008 ~ Annapolis Harbor

We sailed to the Annapolis harbor on Tuesday, July 1 early in the morning. By the time we got to Annapolis, it turned into one of the most gorgeous and beautiful days. I was in awe the whole day long.   The sky was so blue and there was an abundance of white fluffy clouds. . . and an added bonus was that the humidity was low! What a spectacular day!

Unfolding Beauty

Yesterday, my husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary!  He had sent flowers earlier in the day but I didn't think to photograph them yesterday.  So before the roses fully bloom, I got out my camera and had fun this morning.  Here is an isolated pink rose . . . which I call, Unfolding Beauty.

June 26, 2008 ~ Magothy River

The last few times we've tried to go out for a sunset, it ended up being stormy.  Last night, we got carry-out dinner from Deep Creek Restaurant and anchored by Gibson Island to enjoy the sunset. It was still hot and muggy out long after sunset . . . summer is definitely here!

Miranda

Here is a favorite from her session when she was 5 years old.  What a beautiful little girl!  I've enjoyed photographing her since she was an infant.  I love watching the babies grow into childhood. . . and capturing it along the way!

June 13, 2008 Sunset - Magothy River

Tonight's overall sky wasn't too impressive but when I zoomed in, this is what I got!  I don't think I was ever able to capture a sun like that before. I was surprised at this image because it was really windy and the waves were rocking the boat, making it hard to hold the camera steady.

June 9, 2008 Sunset - Magothy River

Tonight's sky was a burning ball . . . slowly setting on the Magothy.  It was a smooth sail, hardly any traffic out . . . except for a few small fishing boats. It felt like summertime the past few days  . . . it was still 96 degrees at sunset tonight. . . it didn't feel like it until we got back to the dock.

May 25, 2007 Sunset - Magothy River

Since we spend most of our spare time on the sailboat, I decided tonight while we were out sailing  that I wanted to start posting the evening sunset, along with the location. Each evening will be a new canvas to share . . .

Brotherly love . . .

I've been photographing Isaac since he was a baby . . . now he has a baby brother, Josiah.  This image was one of my favorite from their last session. I look forward to capturing memories of Josiah as he journeys through childhood. May God's Blessings be upon them as they go along the way.
